This book was concluded in March 2006, a month after the aprehension of computers in the newsroom of "24 Horas", a Portuguese daily that had revealed the contents of the so called "Envelope 9" of the Casa Pia case.

Since the case happened already in 2006 and the essay is only focused on the period between 2002 and 2005, it didn't make sense to include this episode and to leave out other kinds of attacks on the confidentiality of journalists' sources that took place in 2006, especially outside Portugal.

However, and because the gravity of this attack on the daily can not be ignored, we decided to include on these final notes some of the questions aroused by the whole case, like for example: if the confiscated computers are searched, who protects the possible secret sources of other cases the journalist is probably working on?
