Even though the Manso Preto case was the most mediatized one, other Portuguese journalists were subpoenaed by courts to reveal their confidential sources during the four years this study analyses.

Paula Martinheira and Eduardo Mascarenhas, of "Diário de Notícias", Carlos Varela, who then worked for "Correio da Manhã", Mónica Pereira, from the Azorian weekly "Expresso das Nove", Alexandre Ribeiro de Almeida and Fernando Carneiro, of Lusa, or Nuno Mendes, who had to go to court when he was the correspondent of "Público" in the Azores, are among the journalists pressured by Justice and whose cases arrived at the category's union, an organization that always needs to be heard on potencial revelations of journalistic sources.

In some of these cases, the right to the confidentiality of the sources was upheld by the judges, while in other ones the journalists still await the closing of their processes.
